The British artist Stephen Wilks, born 1964, obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts and English Literature in Canterbury in 1987. As from 1990 he studied arts in Paris, and in 1994 he received a scholarship in Amsterdam. Another scholarship from the German DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) brought him to Berlin in 1998 where he has been living and working ever since. This autumn, his vast solo presentation „Bottle River (Vessels)“ is part of a major exhibition on ceramic sculpture in the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht, Netherlands.
