This presentation at the Schaudepot centres for the first time on a kilim from northern Iran that was woven in the first quarter of the 20th century in Kia Sar, a town on the Caspian Sea in what is now the province of Mazandaran. Its colours, nuances and structures form the starting point for approaching artistic works from Central Europe. At the same time, the drawings, paintings and sculptures by the 19 artists exhibited here provide an opportunity to reflect on the open meanings in works of art.
